Magnentius, 350-353. Solidus (Gold, 22 mm, 4.00 g, 6 h), Lugdunum, early-summer 353. D N MAGNEN-TIVS AVG Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Magnentius to right. Rev. VICT AVG LIB ROM ORB / NLVG Victory, on the left, holding palm frond over her left shoulder, and Libertas, on the right, holding transverse scepter, both supporting trophy between them. Depeyrot 1/2. RIC 119. Very rare. Some minor nicks, otherwise, good very fine.

This coin is from Magnentius' last emission in gold, struck in Lugdunum prior to the Battle of Mons Seleucus, which led to his downfall in August 353.
